Mary Abigail Kawenaʻulaokalaniahiʻiakaikapoliopele Naleilehuaapele Wiggin Pukui Born on April 20, 1895, in her grandmother's home, named Hale Ola, in Haniumalu, Ka'u, on Hawaii Island. She was born into the fire clan of Ka'u. In 1977 she was named a, "Living Treasure of Ka'u," by the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawai'i. In 1995, she was inducted to the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame. In March 2017, Hawaii Magazine ranked her among the list of most influential women in Hawaiian History.
